Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a candidate for EU accession, has committed to lifelong entrepreneurship education. This includes the integration of key entrepreneurial competencies into formal and informal education, in line with the Stabilization and Association Agreement signed in 2008.
The Ministry of Civil Affairs issued a document in 2020 titled “Increasing the Quality and Relevance of VET in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Based on Riga Conclusions 2021–2030,” which defines priorities and an action plan for vocational education and training in accordance with EU standards. The goals include integrating key competencies, such as entrepreneurship, into legislation, strategies, curricula, teacher training, and competency assessment.
Most efforts to integrate entrepreneurial competencies into the education system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including VET providers, have stemmed from EU projects. The most significant projects are the “Entrepreneurial learning in education systems of BiH, Phase I and II,” which resulted in a strategy and teacher training for entrepreneurial learning.
